An Intimate Wedding During Coronavirus Pandemic

Ok hi, folks! It’s been a month since Sarah’s wedding, which means we’ve been in this lockdown for approximately the same amount of time now. I can remember so vividly the order of events New York and New Jersey started implementing restrictions and rules. Just a week before their wedding, the state’s recommendation were no gatherings larger than 200 people. I remember face timing her that weekend to check up on her and whether or not they would still move forward with everything. on Monday (3/16), the state implemented no gatherings larger than 50 people. Their venue canceled, vendors cancelled, honeymoon cancelled. Everything seemed to be happening so last minute. I mean it was LESS THAN FIVE DAYS away. After planning your wedding for more than a year, having that control pulled away from you at the last possible second can just make you feel absolutely defeated and heartbroken. But they just wanted to marry each other, and they did just that. It was intimate, with a total attendance of less than 20 people. They were surrounded by their parents, siblings, officiant, and that’s it. They got married that Friday, March 20th, 2020 (in open air) on the beach at Strathmere, New Jersey, and by the end of the day they called each other husband and wife. That following Saturday, the state implemented no weddings and gatherings AT ALL. It probably didn’t seem like it at the time, but they were lucky (in a sense) and they just made it! I know that it’s not exactly as planned, but they will have their celebration with all their loved ones once this passes. For now, they can enjoy each other’s company in quarantine as HUSBAND and WIFE :) I’m fortunate enough to witness this love.

Engagement in Longport, New Jersey | Sarah + Bill

it might still be february, but i just have bring a little summer in here. sarah and bill’s wedding is exactly ONE month away, and i couldn’t be happier for them! after a few initial photos, i asked these two if they were willing to maybe possibly take a few in the ocean. ha! initially there were crickets in the air, but then they both agreed and these are the results. it turned out to be one of my favorite engagement sessions to date. their connection is so raw and genuine and it was both refreshing and beautiful to watch.

Jen + Neepak's Proposal

It was fall of 2014 when I had just graduated, and traveled to the Philippines for the first time in a VERY long time as a gift from family. Since graduation, my college roommate and I came back to our hometown and did what most post-grads did… contemplate the next steps of life. HAH! Well, we did that. We enrolled ourselves at our local gym and then became gym partners, spending hours there babbling because we no longer lived with each other. When I took my trip to the Philippines, IT HAPPENED. Jen met her NOW FIANCÉ by the kettlebells, as they acknowledged their coincidental matching Rutgers shirts. They were friends at first, but when I came home and Jen told me about her new “friend,” I just knew it would be something more. I’ve watched Jen grow so much since we were in pre-school together… haha kidding (but not really because we attended the same catholic school!!). Rutgers brought us back together and truthfully, I’ve never seen her happier. What an honor it was to be able to capture this special moment for them. I am so unbelievably happy for these two, and their fairytale story. I JUST CAN’T BEAR MY EXCITEMENT ;) so HERE it is… Jen + Neepak’s proposal!
